Libro Dell’emancipazione dei negri. Editore Italia. DownloadAt least 8 people have been killed after terrorists linked with the Islamic State group and with a former Mexican drug gang staged a brazen attack on a French truck company’s office in Marseille in the south of France, a local prosecutor said Sunday.
The official said that most of the victims had been employees of the manufacturing company’s delivery services department, and that they were shot dead “execution-style.”
Earlier, two people were reported killed and three others wounded in a vehicle-born terror attack in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis, and a woman was later found stabbed in Lyon, French officials said.
Several people in a truck also were injured in Lyon on Friday, and the individuals were hospitalized. Two people were arrested over the incident, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said.
The terror attacks on Saturday were the first known on European soil since a spate of attacks rocked the continent in 2015.
The attacker fired on his victims at the group’s headquarters in Lyon on Friday night before driving off. People fled through a backyard and he then returned to the scene.
The driver has been identified as a 30-year-old resident of France’s heavily migrant-populated southeastern region of Marseille, who had moved to the Lyon suburb, France’s interior ministry said.
The attacker was captured on surveillance video, and was wearing a helmet and a bulletproof vest as he entered the company’s offices where he murdered six people and wounded two, said Molins.
France’s prime minister, Edouard Philippe, said French troops will protect international companies.
“It could be a serious problem for all companies here in France, it could be a serious problem for all of Europe, it could be a problem for all of the world,” Philippe told TF1 television.
The French government on Saturday offered a 750,000-euro ($820,000) reward for information leading to the attacker’s arrest.
Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin said the man was a Muslim who had been identified as a known radical.
Laurence Petit, head of France’s National Union of Truck Drivers, said the attack has rattled France’s trucking industry.
“There’s been no major attack in recent years on this scale,” Petit said. “If there’s a hit, it’s going to be pretty hard.”Syracuse
